I had a friend who was nuts about everything Korean. Before she eventually moved to Korea in 2002, we had a little competition to see who could suss out hangul (the Korean alphabet) the fastest. It turns out the Korean alphabet is dead easy to learn. It has only 22 components or so, and the rules for arranging the components into letters are logical and iron-fast. Pronunciation is WYSIWYG and just as easy. It took me just half a day to memorize the components and start deciphering Korean writing... Of course, I had no clue what it all meant.

This means you are motivated to go on and before you know it, you have aquired a new skill. I find the Korean audios very helpful to get to grips with this language: Language Learning Audios
This is a good article and the link is wonderful, thanks much. It will help me when I go shopping for a blind friend of mine who listens to audio books often.
